Some current posting guidelines, as posted to lj and applicable here.

Yesterday's rule stands; the mods would like people to feel comfortable posting whatever content is comforting to them personally. However, please consider that it may be upsetting to others, and use an cut tag for this type of post along with notes about the content. Things that would fall under this rule include: photos/animations of grieving friends, closeups of the wreckage, etc.

If we feel a cut is needed and one was not used, we will delete and ask you to repost. So hang on to copies of your content.

Last but not least, please bear with us as this is not exactly an everyday moderation experience (thank goodness). Feel free to pm myself or kelly_girl with any questions.

Hello all! I just wanted to update the community rules for Fast and Furious Six spoilers. When we originally instituted this rule for accessibility reasons, I expected the North American DVD release date to be around September as with past movies. Apparently the DVD is actually being released on December 10, a much longer wait than expected. But as it has been released in other regions, I'm declaring there is no need to tag or warn for Fast and Furious Six spoilers at quarter_mile starting November 1. That should give anyone who was waiting for DVD release enough time to find another way to watch the film, or temporarily unfollow the community.

[Of course your mods totally encourage supporting the best action franchise of all time with your purchasing money. Just to be clear.]

To anyone who did find the spoiler warnings useful, we apologise for enforcement not being perfect over the summer. We will work on it for next time.

And of course, spoiler rules for details about Fast 7 remain in effect.

Hi everyone! Saw the boys looking gorgeous these London premiere pics this morning! And don't forget the ladies! Our 12 year old franchise looks good. Three modly reminders:

1. This community is always spoiler-free for the most recent film until one week after the movie comes out on DVD in North America. I can't find a date right now, but should be approximately mid-September. Until this time, please use spoiler warnings and cut tags for relevant fic and discussions.

Fast & Furious Timeline Information

Does anybody have any links to releases from the producers/writers/actors that say what the official movie timeline is? All I've been able to find are forum comments from people claiming someone said it without specifically linking the video or article, newspaper articles listing a timeline without saying who told them, and the Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift wikipedia page, which says F&F:TD takes place AFTER all movies currently released without a reference link to where they got that information.

I'm frustrated. Did I just miss an article somewhere? Are we just going to have to hope the sixth movie explains everything? Help!

EDIT(05/02): Got one! amberdark found an interview with Justin Lin that includes a nice solid explanation on the timeline. ...At least as solid as Justin ever gets on the subject. The article was published in January 2011, and is totally non-spoilery for Fast Five.

Hey all!

Just wanted to say have fun! to everyone making it out to the theatre this weekend. Just like for Fast and Furious, we ask that all discussion posts or fanworks containing plot spoilers relating to the new film be hidden behind cut tags and labeled for spoilers. I'm setting up a new tag now with the title of the movie, Fast Five.

Since movie theatres aren't accessible for everyone, this rule is in effect until one week after the movie comes out on DVD. Presumably September-ish.

And everyone has been excellent about this recently, but I'll remind you anyway: some of us slash, some of us 'ship, some of us are in it for the action scenes and the car porn. It's all welcome! Please be nice to each other.
